About

Originally from New Haven, CT, I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology (BA), cum laude, at Albertus Magnus College and graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Southern Connecticut State University. I first obtained my license through the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) in 1993, relocated to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 2000 and have been licensed here ever since. I am also a highly-qualified Special Education teacher. Having taught at the high school level for 11 years, I am certified to work with students with Emotional Disabilities and Multi-categorical special needs.
I have worked in many settings, including schools, inner-city hospitals, community-based services, and at the bedside in hospice. My style is laid-back and conversational, warm and supportive. I utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which essentially looks at how our thoughts affect our mood/feelings and behavior. Once we identify those feelings that don't serve us well, we can challenge them and learn new ways of approaching life for a happier and healthier outcome!

How it works

My practice is remote, so we communicate via videoconferencing using a HIPPA-compliant platform. This ensures that our communications are secure and private. Many clients find that video conferencing is fairly close to the in-person communication they'd find with their therapist. And because we're web-based, our hours are flexible, including evenings and weekends.
You DESERVE to feel better. I encourage you to give it a try!
